Hello, I’m Sophie and Petimo is the product of my lifelong obsession with greetings cards. As a child, I always saved my favourite birthday cards. I still have every single one my sister has sent me since I was eight. Instead of pop star posters on my teenage bedroom walls, I had a collage of beautiful cards!

When I was 16, my parents opened a Gallery selling art & antiques with a selection of gifts and cards. I always helped out, especially with the gift & card buying, I just loved it. After I graduated from university, I got involved even more, dropping the art and antiques to focus solely on cards and gifts. It was a great decision and things really took off! Pretty soon, I took over the business completely. Along with my husband Simon, we’ve been running www.morethanjustagift.co.uk at Narborough Hall ever since. 

I’ve spent the last three decades buying and selling greetings cards and my enthusiasm for this endlessly creative and innovative industry has never waned. Over the years, I often considered designing my own cards but never got round to it. This year though, I finally took the plunge and designed my first range ‘Little Words’. 

As soon as I started designing, I just couldn’t stop! And my ideas keep on coming and before I knew it I had another three ranges. Initially I’d only intended to sell the cards in my own shop, but once they were on the shelves it was clear I’d hit upon a great formula. My customers were loving them and buying them too! The natural next step was to open up Petimo for other retail buyers too. 

Petimo

The name ‘Petimo’ comes from the French "petit mot" which means "little words". My cards are the perfect way to send heartfelt words enhanced by lovely designs. At Petimo, I know that little words mean a lot so I choose the perfect words and then make them into beautiful greetings cards that your customers will love.
